We bring together banks, managers, brokers, distributors and administrators. They are institutions of different sizes and segments, which perceive a plurality of market.
We are ANBIMA, a non-profit organization that brings together banks, management firms, brokers, distributors and administrators. We were established in 2009, but our trajectory is older since the Association is the result of the joining of two entities whose joint history adds up to more than half a century.

Our offices that house the business areas are located in São Paulo (SP), but we are officially headquartered in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), from where we have undertaken the activities of the Brazilian Central Bank’s Special System for Settlement and Custody (Selic) for the last 42 years. Based on an agreement with the Central Bank, we take care of the day-to-day activity of the system responsible for the custody, registration and settlement of government bonds of the National Treasury.

To defend the interests of our members (which include institutions of varying sizes and segments, reflecting the plurality of the market), our activity is based on four commitments: inform, represent, self-regulate, and educate.

A strong market starts with strong and well-represented institutions. We contribute to this by promoting dialogue with the government and private-sector entities, to which we present and discuss proposals for improving the business environment. We have also developed a set of best practices that our members voluntarily follow, by adhering to our self-regulation codes.
We develop rules made by the market, for the market, and for the benefit of the market: these are good practices that institutions follow on a voluntarily basis. Our technical team closely monitors compliance with these requirements, supervising and guiding the institutions.
Based on a consistent and transparent database, we are the main information provider for the segments we represent. This is done by publishing statistics, rankings, price references, and indices that monitor the behavior of asset portfolios, in addition to specific studies that are of interest to member institutions.
We believe that it is possible to transform the market by training its main agents: Financial professionals and investors. Therefore, our actions seek to qualify professionals with certifications, so that they can be multipliers of information and good practices. We also produce and disseminate content on financial education for investors and the general population.
